I am thrilled to have published my book, Bringing a Voice to the Silent Divide: Gender and Health in Forgotten Communities.
This book began with a simple but painful realization: so many people—especially women and gender-diverse individuals in underserved communities—are suffering in silence when it comes to their health and otherwise. And worse, too few are listening.
I first started noticing the inequities not just in hospitals or clinics, but in classrooms and workplaces. I saw how girls were talked over, how their ideas were dismissed, how women’s competence was second-guessed, and how those patterns quietly echoed in healthcare—where symptoms were ignored, pain was downplayed, and care often came too late. The more I paid attention, the clearer it became: gender shapes how we are treated in every space.
I hope that these pages make you pause, reflect, and maybe even speak up in places where silence has gone on for too long. Thank you!
